About Couach Yachts
Couach Yachts Group, a more than hundred years old shipyard, is a global leading manufacturer of motor yachts based in Gujan-Mestras in Arcachon Bay, France and Saint-Mandrier on the French Riviera. The Group builds pleasure yachts as well as patrol and work boats under the name Plascoa for marines and international administrations. The Group also provides maintenance and services for yachts through its subsidiary IMS. The shipyard is expanding its service activities through the redevelopment and operation of the Base Aéronavale (BAN), a former military base located in Saint-Mandrier.
Nepteam is an investment holding company controlled by a group of private investors willing to invest in French industries.
The Couach yacht shipyard (headquartered in Gujan-Mestras / 400 employees) has just been sold to the company NEPTEAM (headquarters in Paris), formed for the occasion. Chaired by Girondin Christian Chevalier and financed to a large extent by Florent Battistella, executive and co-shareholder of Converteam SAS (specialist in electric conversion) recently sold to the American giant General Electric.
“Nepteam, which has bought all the shares of the Couach Group from the Vial family, is owned by industrial investors who are keen to maintain this living heritage in the Arcachon Basin,” Nepteam said in a statement. “We wanted to make this marvelous and upscale brand remain French, and we intend to invest in the long term,” said Christian Chevalier, one of SAS Nepteam’s industrialists.
